Inp.polri.go.id - Jayapura. The Indonesian National Police Headquarters is planning to add several personnel within the jurisdiction of the Papua Regional Police. This was done to prevent conflict ahead of the 2024 Election. The addition of these personnel was at the request of the Papua Regional Police. "That's right, in the context of securing the election," explained Police Senior Superintendent Ignatius Benny Ady Prabowo, the Head of Public Relations of the Papua Regional Police, Monday (28/8/23). He explained that the addition of additional personnel would be allocated to several areas that were considered prone to conflict during elections. In addition, additional personnel will also be placed in areas that are still prone to armed criminal groups (KKB). "There are areas where the Papua Regional Police have noted that they are prone to election conflicts. There will be a thickening of troops. What is clear is that members from the Headquarters will be placed in vulnerable areas to help replenish the existing personnel," he explained further. He also revealed that his party had started socializing the election. He hopes that the 2024 elections can run peacefully. "Socialization and invitations to Peaceful Elections have been carried out.
