inp.polri.go.id - Pangkalpinang. The Narcotics Investigation Directorate of the Bangka Belitung Islands Regional Police dismantled several huts suspected of being used for drug abuse in the Tanjung Bunga mining area, Temberan Village, Pangkalpinang City, on Wednesday (1/28/2026). The operation was carried out following public reports regarding alleged drug abuse and other illegal activities at the site.
"Today, we conducted a raid against mine workers and visited huts in the Tanjung Bunga area. This is a follow-up to public information that this location is frequently used as a drug consumption location," explained the Director of the Bangka Belitung Regional Police Narcotics Investigation, Senior Superintendent Ronald F. Sipayung.
He stated that the operation involved the Pangkalpinang Sub-regional Police and related agencies, including the Provincial National Narcotics Agency (BNNP), the Indonesian National MIlitary (TNI), the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP), and the local government.
Ronald added that the hut demolitions were carried out to prevent the location from being used for illegal activities, particularly drug abuse.
During the raid, he said, officers found several items suspected of being used for drug use, such as pipes, bongs, and lighters. These findings indicate the location has been used repeatedly for drug abuse for a long time.
"Quite a lot of drug paraphernalia was found. We suspect this location has been used frequently and for quite some time," he said.
