Aceh Regional Police Traffic Directorate has fined 149 bikers involved in illegal racing during Ramadan throughout the province. “The operation was held to maintain public safety and order,” says Aceh Regional Police Traffic Director, Senior Superintendent M Iqbal Alqudusy on Sunday (3/17/2024). Iqbal said of the hundreds of motorbikes secured by security officials, 40 were confiscated by Nagan Raya Sub-regional Police, 31 were confiscated by Pidie Sub-regional Police, 29 were confiscated by West Aceh Sub-regional Police, 10 were confiscated by North Aceh Sub-regional Police, nine were confiscated by Bireuen Sub-regional Police, seven were confiscated by Sabang Sub-regional Police, seven were confiscated by Aceh Jaya Sub-regional Police and five were confiscated by Langsa Sub-regional Police. “Meanwhile, we are also continuing our dissemination effort in other cities to prevent the illegal racing,” continued Iqbal. Furthermore, Iqbal reaffirmed that his party is committed to anticipate illegal racing that continuously disturb the people. The commitment, says Iqbal, was shown through routine patrol in areas often used by the illegal races. Additionally, Iqbal also implored parents to also act actively in watching over their children and not to allow them from participating the illegal race. “To everyone, let us together maintain traffic safety and order and create a peace and comfortable situation for us all,” said Iqbal.
