Inp.polri.go.id - Denpasar. Bali’s I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport and Lombok International Airport have been significantly impacted by the ongoing eruption of Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki in East Nusa Tenggara, leading to widespread flight cancellations and delays.

At Bali’s Ngurah Rai Airport, General Manager Ahmad Syaugi Shahab confirmed that 22 international flights to destinations including Sydney, Melbourne, and Incheon were canceled, as well as multiple domestic flights.

"Airlines are providing passengers with options for refunds, rescheduling, or rerouting," he said.

Help desks are set up at both domestic and international terminals to assist affected travelers, although the airport remains operational, with no volcanic ash detected in the vicinity.

Meanwhile, in Lombok, all flights—both international and domestic—have been grounded, affecting approximately 6,000 passengers.

“No flights are operating today due to ash moving westward,” said Arif Haryanto, Lombok Airport’s spokesperson, adding that passengers are being informed about flight rescheduling and refund procedures through messaging services.

The National Disaster Management Agency has restricted access within a seven-kilometer radius around Mount Lewotobi, currently on the highest alert level due to increased volcanic activity.
