The Directorate of General Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimum) of the Banten Regional Police is investigating an alleged request for a project worth IDR 5 trillion by several parties to PT Chandra Asri Alkali (CAA) and PT Chengda Engineering without going through an auction process.

This investigation began with a social media patrol that found a viral video related to the request.

"Last Sunday there was a video on Instagram by urbanfit.com, where a viral video circulated regarding Kadin, HIPMI, HSNI that allegedly requesting a project at PT Chengda without an auction process," said the Director of Criminal Investigation of the Banten Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Dian Setyawan in Serang City, Friday (5/16/2025).

In response to this, the Banten Regional Police have made an information report and issued an investigation warrant.

"Yesterday we conducted an examination of five witnesses, one of whom was the Chairman of Kadin, and four others from PT Chandra Asri Alkali and PT Chengda," said Dian.

As of now, Dian continued, investigators have scheduled examinations of eight other witnesses who were also seen in the video upload.

The examination is focused on the parties recorded in the video and suspected of being involved in the request for the project without a tender.
