Inp.polri.go.id - Natuna. The Search and Rescue Office (Basarnas) Natuna in Riau Islands evacuated 105 passengers from the motor vessel KM Inkamina Maritim 166, which ran aground in the waters of Anambas Islands on Sunday night (16/9/2024).

Budiman, the Head of SAR Operations in Natuna, said the passengers were middle school students from SMP 2 Siantan returning to Tarempa, the capital of Anambas, after a soccer match in Air Langat village.

The evacuation began at 8.25 pm, involving a joint SAR team from Basarnas, Lanal Tarempa Naval Station, Anambas Sub-regional Police, and local authorities, according to antaranews.com.

Two separate evacuation points were used: 36 passengers were taken to Antang Port and 69 to Tarempa’s port.

No casualties were reported, and all passengers were safely evacuated despite windy conditions and moderate waves.
