The Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) will further act against the 15 to 17 case report received during the 2024 election vote recapitulation process. “There are several that will be processed further, around 15 to 17 cases,” says Bawaslu Chairperson Rahmat Bagja on Thursday (3/21/2024). Bagja says that the dozens of reports related to the election violation allegations for the Members of the House of Representatives (DPR), Members of the Regional Representative Council (DPD), and Members of Provincial and Regency/City Legislative Councils (DPRDs) candidates. “For the presidential election, we will see if there are any reports about the election violation. However, as of now, most of the case reports received are those of legislative election which what we are working now,”says Bagja. Moreover, Bawaslu also logged around 20 cases of election violations during vote recapitulation process in national level. Furthermore, Bagja is preparing Bawaslu ranks to list violation handling and monitoring result for the dispute over general election results (PHPU) at the Constitutional Court. Then, Bawaslu would also handle violation handling linked to the recapitulation violation allegedly committed by the election organizers. (ad/ndt/pr/nm)
