The Head of the National Narcotics Agency (BNN ), Police Commissioner General Petrus Reinhard Golose, revealed several strategies the BNN has been  using to combat the drug route, particularly methamphetamine, which originates in Malaysia and flows through North Kalimantan. Speaking at a public lecture at the University of Borneo Tarakan (UBT) on Wednesday (23/11/2023), he highlighted BNN's commitment to soft power approaches and prevention as key strategies, antaranews.com reported Over the past two years, BNN has reduced the prevalence of drugs by 0.22 per cent, from 1.95 per cent in 2021 to 1.73 per cent currently. General Golose emphasized the importance of this reduction, as it affects hundreds of thousands of people. Among students and scholars, BNN has worked with schools and universities to reduce prevalence from 1.83 percent to 1.36 percent, a decrease of 0.02 percent. "I always say that I am very proud if we can save the future generations of Indonesia," said General Golose.
