Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT) reported 6,402 findings of online content linked to radicalism and terrorism between 1 January and 26 August 2025.
The material ranged from propaganda and recruitment to financing and paramilitary training, spread across platforms including Facebook, WhatsApp, Telegram, Instagram, TikTok, X (formerly Twitter), YouTube, and online media.
“Even though some of the content is old, it keeps getting reposted,” said BNPT Chief Commissioner General Eddy Hartono on Monday (22/9/2025), as reported by antaranews.com.
BNPT noted that its Counter-Radicalization Task Force will coordinate with the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs to consider shutting down accounts or removing content.
Authorities stressed the push for systemic counter-radicalization programs, aiming to protect younger generations from extremist ideology. Measures include counter-ideology, counter-narratives, and counter-propaganda through legal, religious, psychological, and socio-cultural approaches.
