Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Central Jakarta Metropolitan Sub-regional Police organized medical services for victims of the Kemayoran fire, as part of their swift humanitarian response.

"We are providing free medical services, prioritizing children, the elderly, women, and infants at the evacuation post," said Central Jakarta Police Chief Senior Superintendent Susatyo Condro in a statement on Wednesday (22/1/2025).

The outreach took place at the temporary evacuation center at the Central Jakarta Police Station and several other shelters. The goal was to ensure the health of the displaced individuals.

More than 100 fire victims have registered for medical services, provided by 29 healthcare workers from the police medical team, the Health Office, and volunteers. Services included general check-ups, treatment for smoke inhalation, and the distribution of masks, vitamins, and medication.

The medical team also offered health education on hygiene and disease prevention, given the crowded conditions.

"We are especially concerned about the risk of infectious diseases, particularly with many children and elderly residents," Chief Susatyo explained,as quoted by antaranews.com.

The health team would remain on standby throughout the emergency.  In addition to medical services, field kitchens were set up to provide meals for the displaced.
