The Central Kalimantan Regional Police sowed corn seeds on a 1,200 hectares of lands in Tani Elea Farm Group Area, Tumbang Talaken Village KM. 62, Palangka Raya City on Tuesday (1/21/2025). The activity was led by the Head of Central Kalimantan Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Djoko Poerwanto accompanied by other high security officials.
The Vice Chief of Central Kalimantan Regional Police, Brigadier General Rakhmad Setyadi says the corn sowing activity is part of support to the Asta Cita of President Prabowo Subianto.
“For the initial step, the corn sowing is held on 600 hectares of land in Rakumpit, Palangka Raya City, supported by GAPKI, Regional Leadership Coordination Forum, and related stakeholders,” explains Rakhmad.
Rakhmad reveals that his party in the future will form a farmers group in collaboration with the East Java Regional Police, Agriculture Department, and other related institutions, to optimize the food self-sufficiency program through these corn sowing activities.
With this collaboration, it is expected that it could produce a leading variety corn seeds which could produce 5-6 tons of corn per hectare.
Furthermore, Rakhmad emphasized that in the future, his party will solidify their coordination and cooperation with the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum and universities in facing challenges in Central Kalimantan.
“We are committed to overcome these challenges so that corn productions in Central Kalimantan can be optimized, which then smoothen the national food security,” conclude Rakhmad.
