Inp.polri.go.id – Central Sulawesi. Central Sulawesi Police Chief, Inspector General Agus Nugroho stressed Indonesian National Police neutrality for the period of election stages. He also ensures none of his personnel to be involved in practical politics.
“The Indonesian National Police (INP), particularly police personnel in this region, would not be involved in politics,” states the police chief on Wednesday (11/22/2023).
In response to the issue of undercover police infiltrating internal Regional Working Meeting of a politic party at a hotel in Palu City on last November 19th, the police chief reaffirms that in accordance to the mandate of 2022 Law, INP is clearly stated to be neutral from all politic activities. INP is tasked only to secure the elections to ensure it would go smoothly and peacefully.
“We were deployed for security efforts to ensure that our main agenda goes according to the constitutional mandate,” he explains further.
He hopes that on this election contestation, public can be wiser in filtering information as there would be many hoaxes spreading around the election.
