Inp.polri.go.id - Palu. In a strategic move to enhance security measures, 110 personnel from the Central Sulawesi Regional Police's Mobile Brigade (Brimob) have been deployed to Papua for the 2024 Damai Cartenz Operation Task Force to ensure public safety, instill a sense of security among the people and conduct security operations in the region. Central Sulawesi Police Chief Inspector General Agus Nugroho announced the deployment during a departure ceremony for the personnel in Kota Palu on Friday. The 110 Brimob personnel assigned to Operation Cartenz 2024 will be under the Operational Command  of the Papua Regional Police. Prior to their year-long deployment in Papua, the personnel, accompanied by two mentors and two trainers, will undergo a month-long pre-operational training in Cikeas, Jakarta. The training is designed to equip the Indonesian National Police (INP) personnel with the understanding, knowledge, specific objectives and functions  relevant to the operation. According to Chief Agus, participation in the training is crucial for personnel to understand the procedures and protocols of the operation, ensuring its smooth and effective execution. He emphasized the importance of personal wellbeing and solidarity among the team while serving in Papua. (mg/inp/pr/nm)
