inp.polri.go.id – Jambi. Operation Bureau of Jambi Regional Police held inter-sector Coordination Meeting in securing Christmas and New Year 2022 at the Bhayangkara Siginjai building of Jambi Regional Police Headquarter on Friday (17/12/21).
The meeting was led by Chief of Jambi Regional Police, Police Inspector General Albertus Rachmad Wibowo, accompanied by the deputy governor of Jambi, Abdullah Sani; Commander of 042/Gapu Military Region, Armed Forces Brigadier General M Zulkifli; and Chief Prosecutor of Jambi, Sapta Subrata.
Chief of Regional Police explained that this meeting was preceded by a technical meeting a while ago, attended by all related stakeholders of health, security, safety, and basic necessity logistical sectors of Jambi people.
"I want to address the attention of Mr President during Zoom meeting on December 16, that Omicron variant has detected in 88 countries, even we have found the case in Indonesia and released by Minister of Health. WHO also stated that this variant might have been spread across all countries", Chief of Jambi Regional Police said.
The thing that needs to take attention to this Omicron variant is that the three times faster transmission rate and will severely affects unvaccinated people. Therefore, Indonesian President Joko Widodo addresses four things that must be conducted.
"The first is to maintain Health Protocols enforcement, mainly in places of crowds such as economic places, worshipping places, schools, and offices", he said.
The second is to enhance testing and tracing.
"Thank God, the testing and tracing for Jambi province has been great. After the governor allocated PCR testing equipment, we are above the national average now", he mentioned.
The Chief of Regional Police also reminded us that there are 26 active cases in Jambi province, and he has addressed this during the coordination meeting. All stakeholders in regencies/cities to data them and treat in hospital soon.
"Because our hospital rate is still under 1 per cent, we have to ensure those people recover", the two-star general said.
The third is to improve vaccination in three regencies/cities that achieved more than 70% vaccinated population: Jambi city, West Tanjung Jabung regency, and Tebo regency.
"Those three regencies could start the vaccination for children aged 6 to 11. Other regencies/cities, there are eight regencies still under 70%", he said.
"We have delivered previously that several regencies/cities that have the potential to reach 70% on this week, and we reminded them again to maintain and improve it", he affirmed.
The fourth is the health workers' preparedness and availability. If those options are broken, then Jambi must be ready on bed, drugs, oxygen, and health workers availability.
"We have reactivated Oxygen Task Force. On December 23, we will conduct a preparedness rally for Christmas and New Year security operations that we usually conduct in Jambi Regional Police Headquarter with all stakeholders", he said.
The posts have been formed by the Chief of Operational Bureau and involved the 1,528 Police personnel, aided by 1,358 Armed Forces personnel and all stakeholders. "So, there are at least 3,000 personnel we have prepared for securing Christmas and New Year", he added.
Furthermore, the Chief of Regional Police invites all walks of life to pray that everything could run smoothly with adherence to Health Protocols during Christmas and New Year 2022.
"Let's all pray to hope that this Christmas and New Year holiday, either praying or taking a holiday, could run smoothly and, in a short moment, every regencies/city would provide instruction either their regents or mayors for Health Protocols enforcements", he concluded.
