inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Creative Economy has started taking steps to grow the digital economy ecosystem as part of efforts to develop the creative economy.

Vice Minister of Creative Economy, Irene Umar, said that the ministry has taken an initiative to invite housewives to utilize technology to build economic businesses.

"We are now working on the Emak-emak Matic Program, which means the technology-literate mothers," she said on Thursday (2/20/2025).

According to her, the program helps housewives get training in digital technology and economic skills so they can run businesses from home.

In developing the program, Irene has coordinated with the developer of the game "Emak-emak Matic" to provide training that is easier to understand and more enjoyable for housewives. "This game can later be played (on Android and iOS devices)," she explained.

“Actually Emak-emak Matic originally came from a game and board game IP, but we are slightly change the name into a technology-literate mothers,” explained Irene.

The technology training program for housewives was actually started in 2024 in six cities and the Ministry of Creative Economy is targeting that the training can be implemented in 40 cities by 2025.

In an effort to encourage the growth of the digital economy ecosystem, the Ministry of Creative Economy also presents games made by local developers in public facilities.

According to Irene, the games presented in public spaces are the work of the locals who participated in the Global Game Jam, a prestigious global competition for game developers.

"One of them is already at the airport. Terminal 3 airport, it's in the games corner.
Actually, we have installed it in many places, but they are filled with foreign games. But starting December 2024, the games corner is now 100 percent presenting only local games," she concluded.
