inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Criminal Investigation Agency of Indonesian National Police is now investigating suspected fraud of oxygen tube refills from an Oxygen Task Force organisation.
"We are investigating on it", Chief of Criminal Investigation Agency of Indonesian National Police, Police General Commissioner Agus Andrianto, on Sunday (11/07/2021).
The three-star general also explained that the Covid-19 Task Force from the Criminal Investigation Agency of Indonesian National Police has visited Siaga Volunteer Command Post and met Lukman and Riko as the chief and vice chief of the volunteers. They stated that the humanitarian event of free oxygen refill has not been started and still on internal planning.
"However, the phone number, bank account, and advertising of the Oxygen Task Force are theirs, which suspected got leaked and spread by irresponsible person, as clarified (by the volunteers on their Instagram account) @relawan_siaga", Chief of Criminal Investigation Agency of Indonesian National Police concludes.
Previously, there was viral information on WhatsApp groups that stated Siaga Volunteer Command Post launches Oxygen Task Force programme. The poster said that the task force would pick up and refill the oxygen tube for free. The poster also stated a number as the contact person.
However, oxygen tubes belonging to the victims are never returned after being taken and promised by the people claiming from the Oxygen Task Force.
