Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The National Economic Council (DEN) and the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs will commence work on establishing Indonesia’s “family office” initiative starting Thursday (13/3/2025).
DEN Chairman Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said on Wednesdayd that DEN has been working on this initiative for the past six months, gathering input from various stakeholders, including U.S. investor Ray Dalio.
Updates on the progress will be reported to President Prabowo Subianto, who has already signaled approval, according to antaranews.com.
The concept of a "family office" was first introduced by Luhut during his tenure as Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment under President Joko Widodo. The initiative aims to attract high-net-worth individuals and global investors by offering competitive incentives, particularly in comparison to Malaysia.
Deputy Minister of Finance Thomas Djiwandono confirmed that the Ministry is assessing appropriate incentives while ensuring legal certainty for the program. The government aims to align its regulatory framework with international standards to enhance competitiveness.
