inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Metro Jaya Regional Police Drug Criminal Investigation Directorate arrested a man with the initials DP (27) who was caught carrying 5.6 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine and 5,020 ecstasy pills in the Depok area, West Java.

"The arrest was made on Monday, May 26, 2025 at 13.25 pm by Unit 5 Sub-directorate 3 of Metro Jaya Regional Police," said Head of Sub-directorate 3 of Metro Jaya Regional Police, Superintendent Ade Chandra in his statement in Jakarta, Monday (5/27/2025) as quoted from Antaranews.

Ade explained that police found the drugs at two different locations, still in Panus Alley, Pancoran Mas, Depok.

"The perpetrator was caught red-handed when he was carrying a black plastic bag containing two packages of crystal methamphetamine in Chinese tea packaging," he said.

Ade Chandra said that from the first location, the police secured more than 2.1 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine.

"When officers came to the suspect's boarding house to conduct further investigation, it turned out that more evidence was found," he said.

In the boarding room, four other packages of crystal methamphetamine were found in similar packaging with a total weight of evidence reaching 5.6 kg, and one large package containing 5,020 green ecstasy pills was found.

"Based on the suspect's confession, the goods came from Medan and were planned to be distributed in Jakarta and its surroundings," said Ade Chandra.

With the disclosure of this case, police has managed to save 10,620 lives from the dangers of drug abuse

"The suspect DP and the evidence are currently being held at Metro Jaya Regional Police for further investigation," said Ade Chandra.
