East Java Regional Police Human Resources Provides Psychological Support for Residents Affected by the Semeru Eruption

inp.polri.go.id – Surabaya. Head of the Psychology Division of the East Java Regional Police Human Resources Bureau, supports psychosocial and psychological first aid for residents affected by the Mount Semeru Eruption, Lumajang Regency, East Java. The activity was carried out on the second day, on Monday (6/12) 2021), where evacuation was carried out in Candipuro District and at the refugee camp, which was held in Penanggal Village, Candipuro District. In addition, it was also carried out at the evacuation site for residents in the Dwija Raharja Cooperative Building, Candipuro District and finally in Supiturang Village, Pronojiwo District. This activity targets the community, especially those affected by the eruption of Mount Semeru. Especially vulnerable groups, such as children, the elderly and women. The personnel involved in this activity are the Trauma Healing Team of the East Java Regional Police, led by the Head of the East Java Regional Police's Human Resources Bureau, Police Grand Commissioner Herry Heryawan, Head of Psychology, Police Grand Commissioner Attendant Diah Ika Riantanti, Head of the Human Resources Section of the Lumajang Departemental Police, Team of Policewomen of the Human Resources Bureau of the East Java 15 people, Press of Psychology Section of the East Java Regional Police's Human Resources Bureau, Lumajang Departemental Police Counselor one person, Jember Departemental Police Counselor four people, Malang Departemental Police Counselor four people and Indonesian Psychological Association, Jember branch 25 people. "The activities carried out are coordinating with the Lumajang Departemental Police, Regional Disaster Management Agency, Social Service Team, Village Hall Coordinator and related stakeholders, as well as reviewing community evacuation facilities and public kitchens," said Head of the East Java Regional Police's Human Resources Bureau, Tuesday (7/12/2021). In addition, they also observed residents affected by the eruption of Mount Semeru and assisted in the form of masks, supplements, puzzles, light snacks, milk, picture books and crayons. "Play therapy targets children singing, games, storytelling children's stories, providing Early Psychological Assistance to residents and children," he continued. The activity itself is not only carried out for one day, on the third day on Tuesday (7/12/21). It is also still providing psychosocial support and psychological first aid for victims of the Mount Semeru Eruption. The activity on the third day after the eruption of Mount Semeru was carried out at the evacuation site in Sumbermujur Village, Candipuro District and in the refugee campsite, Candipuro District. Meanwhile, in the refugee camps in Sumbermujur Village, there were 121 children, 46 elderly people, one pregnant woman and 532 people. "This activity also coordinates with the Lumajang Departemental Police, Lumajang Counselors and Field Coordinators for Disaster Management, Observation of residents affected by the eruption of Mount Semeru, Emotional freedom technique therapy for the elderly to relieve stress, reduce tension and improve the relationship between body and mind," he concluded.
