inp.polri.go.id - The East Kalimantan Regional Police, along with resort polices in the ranks, for the past two weeks have arrested at least 57 suspects from 28 gambling cases, both online and conventional.
Head of Public Relations of the East Kalimantan Police, Commissioner Yusuf Sutejo, who was accompanied by the Director of Special Criminal Investigation, Director of General Criminal Investigation, Director of Drug Investigation, Director of Water and Air Police, and the Balikpapan Police Chief, directly led the press release activity.
"The disclosure of the case started from August 18 to 29, 2022, both by the East Kalimantan Regional Police and the ranks of the Resort Police. There are 57 suspects from the 28 cases we have managed to revealed, along with the evidence," said the Head of Public Relations in a press release at the Mahakam Building of the East Kalimantan Police, Monday (29/08/2022).
The Head of Public Relations of the East Kalimantan Police detailed that five of the 28 cases were the result of disclosures made by the ranks of the General Criminal Investigation Directorate of the East Kalimantan Police. Then there are three cases revealed by Samarinda Police, Balikpapan one case, Kutai Kartanegara two cases, East Kuta five cases, Paser and North Panajam Paser four cases, Bontang one case, and Berau eight cases.
“Of all the cases, most of it were conventional gambling. There are also some online gambling. We are having a bit of trouble in revealing the online gambling case because the dealers are not in the area. They are in another area. Even abroad," said the Head of Public Relations.
Commissoner Yusuf Sutejo, continued that this disclosure effort was directed by the Chief of the National Police, Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, M.Sc., to suppress all forms of gambling activity.
