Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto announced on Sunday 925/5/2025) that the government’s 50% electricity tariff discount will take effect on 5 June 2025, targeting households with power usage below 1,300 VA.

The electricity discount, valid for June–July 2025, is one of six economic stimulus measures prepared to boost household consumption and drive national growth in the second quarter. The program is expected to benefit approximately 79.3 million residential customers.

“This momentum is used to accelerate consumption. These programs are designed to support economic growth through increased public spending,” Minister Airlangga said, as quoted by antaranews.com.

The five other government stimulus measures include discounted public transport fares, covering train, airline, and sea travel during the school holiday period; toll road discounts scheduled for June–July, expanded food aid programs, targeting 18.3 million low-income families; wage subsidies for workers earning below Rp3.5 million/month, including honorary teachers and extended discounts on workplace accident insurance contributions for labor-intensive sectors.

All stimulus programs are undergoing finalization and will be launched concurrently on 5 2025, reinforcing the government's efforts to maintain consumer confidence and support the economy amid broader policy shifts.
