inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Head of the Manpower, Transmigration, and Energy Agency of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, Hari Nugroho, said that the main factors behind the scarcity of 3 kg LPG gas in Jakarta were quota reductions, changes in distribution regulations, and price disparities.
"The allocation of 3 kg LPG this year has decreased by around 5 percent compared to 2024. The long holiday at the end of January caused delays in distribution, so that supply was hampered," he said, as reported by the RRI on Wednesday (2/5/2025).
According to him, changes in regulations from the Director General of Oil and Gas also contributed to the scarcity in the field. Now, purchasing LPG at the depot requires using an ID card, which has not been widely socialized.
"As a result of this new regulation, people who usually buy at stalls have to queue at the depot," he explained.
The lack of socialization has confused many residents, causing long queues and a backlog of demand.
He proposed stricter enforcement of the rules so that LPG distribution is right on target.
"Depots that violate the rules must be given strict sanctions, including revocation of business licenses," he said.
He also highlighted the importance of a better distribution system so that LPG reaches the rightful recipients. He suggested limiting purchases based on Family Cards (KK) and stricter supervision of bases and agents.
