Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The North Jakarta Fire and Rescue Agency deployed 80 firefighters on Saturday (6/12/2025) to extinguish a fishing boat that caught fire at the East Pier of Muara Baru Port, Penjaringan. 

The incident was first reported at 5.25 pm by security officers, prompting an immediate dispatch of firefighting teams, who arrived at the scene 10 minutes later.

“We mobilized 15 fire trucks and began suppression efforts as soon as we reached the location,” said Gatot Sulaeman, the Operations Head of North Jakarta and Kepulauan Seribu Fire and Rescue Agency, as quoted by antaranws.com.

The burning vessel was docked at the port when the fire began. Firefighters continued cooling operations into the evening to prevent reignition, while authorities assessed the extent of damage.

Officials suspected the cause of the blaze was due to a short circuit. The investigation will proceed once the area is fully secured
