inp.polri.go.id - Semarang. The police will immediately crack down on illegal oil mining activities in Blora Regency, Central Java. This action was taken following the explosion of an illegal oil well that killed a civilian in Gendono Hamlet, Gandu Village, Bogorejo District, on Sunday (8/17/2025).
Blora Sub-regional Police Chief, Superintendent Wawan Andi Susanto, stated that his office has coordinated with the Blora Regent and the Central Java Regional Police to tighten supervision of illegal oil wells that are still operating.
"Going forward, we have discussed this with the Regent and will coordinate with the Regional Police. We will further intensify the enforcement of these community wells," he said, as reported by Antaranews on Monday (8/18/2025).
Currently, the police are still conducting a preliminary investigation. Four witnesses from the surrounding area have been questioned, while the well owner has not yet been questioned.
Furthermore, the Blora Sub-regional Police have coordinated with the Central Java Regional Police's Forensic Laboratory (Labfor) team for further investigation. However, the team's arrival is awaiting the fire's complete extinguishing.
"Once the fire has been extinguished, the forensics team will immediately go to the location," he explained.
