Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Global cybersecurity provider Fortinet, in collaboration with International Data Corporation (IDC), reports a twofold surge in ransomware incidents in Indonesia, with 62% of companies noting a 2023 increase compared to 2022.
IDC's Research Vice President for Asia-Pacific Simon Piff explained the need for continuous vigilance and adaptability in securing modern IT infrastructure amidst challenges like hybrid work, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and cloud technologies.
"The integration of AI-supported tools, reassessment of staff, potential outsourcing, and increased automation emerge as crucial aspects highlighted by this survey, underscoring the importance for companies to strategically implement automation," he said.
The survey explored security practices, attack frequency and impact, response times, vigilance gaps, the role of automation in Security Operations workflows (State of SecOps), and challenges in skill development within the SecOps domain.
The survey found that, alongside ransomware, phishing and identity theft rank as the primary cyber threats in Indonesia for 50% of companies.
