inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesian Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka encouraged the involvement of more Vocational High School (SMK) students to gain direct learning experience in the industrial environment.
He said this when visiting the electronics factory of PT Pembina Galindra Electric Co. in the Bekasi International Industrial Estate (BIIE) area, South Cikarang, Bekasi, West Java, Wednesday (5/21/2025).
Gibran believes that this step can strengthen the competence and increase the competitiveness of SMK graduates for the future.
On that occasion, Gibran also emphasized that the greater the local content in products made in Indonesia, the stronger the national industry.
The Vice President reminded all industry players not only to focus on technological progress, but also to be environmentally friendly and sustainable.
Director of PT TOA Galva Industries Asep Saleh acknowledged that internship and field work practice (PKL) programs have a strategic role in shaping the readiness of SMK graduates and students to enter the world of work.
According to him, the program is effective in bridging the gap between academic competence and industry needs.
He also explained that the implementation of the domestic component level (TKDN) in the TOA Group environment varies, depending on the type of product produced.
However, he emphasized that the implementation of TKDN is always part of every production process carried out by the company.
During his visit, Vice President Gibran witnessed firsthand workers assembling various electronic devices.
The visit aimed to review the readiness and observe the dynamics of the manufacturing sector, as well as encourage an increase in the contribution of domestic industry to national economic growth.
President Prabowo Subianto together with the Red and White Cabinet continues to demonstrate a strong commitment to strengthening the foundation of the national economy. One of the strategic steps taken is to encourage the optimization of the use of domestic products.
