The Operational Team of the Pohuwato Police Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim) arrested the suspect with the initials WN, the owner of the Man 3 Trader in a fraudulent investment case in Dambalo Village, Pohuwato Regency, Gorontalo Province. Head of Public Relations (Kabid Humas) of the Gorontalo Police (Polda Gorontalo), Commissioner Wahyu Tri Cahyono, S.I.K., in Gorontalo, Saturday, said WN was arrested while visiting one of his family members. "WN has been identified as a suspect in a fraud and embezzlement case while resting and hiding in one of his family's homes, after being absent from the summoning of the investigators twice," explained Kabid Humas Polda Gorontalo. Kabid Humas Polda Gorontalo explained that based on reports of complaints to the Satreskim, 39 people reported allegations of fraudulent investments owned by WN. Kabid Humas Gorontalo revealed that when he was being examined as a witness, WN was still willing to attend, but after the results of the case title and his status were raised as a suspect, WN refused to attend with unknown reason. "So the investigators issued an arrest warrant to the person concerned," said Kabid Humas Polda Gorontalo. Kabid Humas Polda Gorontalo added that based on the data that has been gathered so far, the amount of funds collected by WN was around Rp. 30 billion. "This is what the investigators still need to explore," stated Kabid Humas Polda Gorontalo. Moreover, Kabid Humas Polda Gorontalo said that WN was also allegedly collecting funds from the public in the form of deposits without permission from the leadership of Bank Indonesia, as well as criminal acts of fraud and embezzlement with a maximum threat of 15 years. Kabid Humas Polda Gorontalo appealed to the entire community to be wiser in choosing investments to avoid being scammed.
