Inp.polri.go.id - Yogyakarta.  Ministry of Agriculture has guaranteed sufficient beef and buffalo meat supplies for Ramadan and Eid 2025, despite a rise in foot-and-mouth disease cases.

"The government guarantees meat availability for Ramadan and Eid 2025," said Agung Suganda, the Director General of Livestock and Animal Health, on Saturday (11/1/2025). 

Supply will come from domestic production and imports of beef and buffalo meat, according to antaranews.com.

While food and mouth disease cases have increased, the numbers remain significantly lower than during the 2022 outbreak. Although food and mouth disease has a low mortality rate of under 2%, its rapid spread poses economic challenges.

The government has distributed 4 million doses of foot and mouth disease vaccines to high-risk areas like Central Java and Yogyakarta. Officials are also intensifying livestock movement controls and monitoring at animal markets.
