inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Vice Minister of Communication and Digital Nezar Patria said that the regulation on child protection in digital space encourages children in positive activities in cyberspace.
"This is expected to be a regulation that can guarantee our digital space is safer for children and can be used for more optimal positive activities," said Nezar Patria on Monday (2/3/2025).
Nezar said that currently a special working team has been formed, and they will be tasked with drafting a study on the restrictions, including other regulations related to child protection in digital space.
"Currently, as explained by the Minister, a working team is being formed to try to study the age limit and internet access for children," continued Nezar.
Previously, Minister of Communication and Digital Meutya Hafid revealed that her institution was directly ordered by President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto to complete regulations regarding child protection in the digital space no later than two months.
Meutya also has signed a Decree (SK) to form a special working team, consisting of representatives from several ministries, academics, child education figures, child observer institution Save The Children Indonesia, the Psychological Institute, the Child Protection Institute represented by Kak Seto, and many other related institutions that will work starting Monday, February 3rd.
