inp.polri.go.id - Jayapura. The Community Development unit of Papua Regional Police held another Affordable Food Movement (GPM) in effort to stabilize the food price in public.
This time, the activity took place in the neighborhood association (RT) 03, community association (RW) 02, Tanjung Ria Village, North Jayapura District, on Wednesday (8/13/2025).
A total of 400 sacks of rice were prepared for the community, distributed in two batches. The first batch consisted of 70 sacks of rice, which were sold on-site at an affordable price. Each person was limited to a maximum of two sacks of rice per ID card to ensure equitable distribution and prevent hoarding.
Brigadier Rio Eman Ratu Banum Siebinef, stated that the activity received a positive response from residents.
"Today, we're holding a Cheap Food Movement in the yard of the neighborhood head's house. Residents can purchase up to two sacks of rice per ID card. The community's enthusiasm is very high, with many already lining up before personnel arrive. This demonstrates the genuine need for this program," said Brigadier Rio Eman Ratu Banum Siebinef.
The GPM program in Tanjung Ria Village proceeded safely, orderly, and fostered camaraderie between police and residents.
This program not only helps alleviate the economic burden but also strengthens the relationship between the police and the community.
The distribution will continue with a second batch of 430 sacks of rice, each containing 5 kilograms, which will be distributed to other locations as scheduled.
