To celebrate the 80th anniversary of Indonesian Independence Day, the Papua Regional Police Public Relations Ambassadors held a sympathetic demonstration by distributing 200 Indonesian flags to motorcycle and car drivers at several strategic locations in Jayapura City on Wednesday (8/13/2025).

The flag distribution took place at Imbi Park in Jayapura City, in front of Jayapura Mall, and in front of the Papua Regional Police Headquarters, led by First Inspector Syamsuddin Lie, 

Daniel, Head of the Dok Regional Taxi Drivers Association, who also received the flags, expressed his appreciation for the event.

"Thank you to the Papua Regional Police Public Relations Ambassadors for distributing free Indonesian flags to drivers. We hope this activity can foster a sense of nationalism throughout the community, especially in Jayapura City," he said.

According to Syamsuddin Lie, representing the Head of Public Relations for the Papua Regional Police, the flag distribution was not merely a symbol, but also an invitation to the public to collectively celebrate independence.

"Through this activity, we want to encourage Papuans to fly the Red and White flag at their homes, vehicles, and businesses as a manifestation of their love for the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia," he said.

This action was warmly received by the public. Many motorists immediately displayed flags on their vehicles, marking the spirit of celebrating Indonesia's historic day.
