inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Traffic Management Directorate of Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police has prepared special lane for road bikes and will take firm action against cyclists who still take public roads or leave special lanes. Director of Traffic Management, Police Grand Commissioner Sambodo Purnomo Yogo responded to the large number of cyclists using the right lane on public roads and blocking part of the road. "We are preparing special lane for bike riders. After the lane operates, we will begin to take firm action against the bikers," he explained. Previously there had been a viral photo of a motorist who was suspected of being annoyed when the road was blocked by a group of cyclers. He then raised his middle finger at the group. Director of Traffic Management explain the special route being prepared by Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Police and Jakarta Transportation Agency is non-toll flyway (JLNT) Kampung Melayu-Tanah Abang. Even so, the JLNT Casablanca as special lane for bike is still in the trial phase and has not yet determined when the lane would be operational. The Director of Traffic Management said the sanctions for cyclists were regulated in the Road Traffic and Transportation Law. Article 299 of the Traffic and the Road Transport (LLAJ) Law mentioned, "Every person driving a non-motorized vehicle deliberately holds on to a motorized vehicle to be towed, pulls objects that can endanger other road users, and / or uses the vehicle road as referred to in Article 122 letter a , letter b, or letter c, shall be punished with imprisonment of up to 15 days or a maximum fine of Rp. 100,000. Then Article 122 of LLAJ reads "Drivers of Non-Motorized Vehicles are prohibited from: a. deliberately allowing the vehicle to be towed by a motorized vehicle at a speed which may endanger safety; b. transport or pull objects that may obstruct or endanger other Road Users; and / or c. using Motorized Vehicle lanes if a special road lane has been provided for Non-Motorized Vehicles .
