inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Health Ministry aims to build 66 hospitals in regencies and cities who do not have the type C Hospital, which mostly at Remote Border Islands Areas (DTPK) and as many as 32 will be completed in 2026.

“The 32 hospitals will be built at the DTPK, and as of now we pray that by the end of march we can lay the first stone at the 10 hospitals,” says the Director General of Advanced Health, Anzar Jaya on Wednesday (1/15/2025).

Azhar said the number was greater than that requested by President Prabowo Subianto, which was 10 hospitals. The hospital establishment will be prioritized for the eastern part of Indonesia, but there were also some in the west, such as in Nias and Bengkulu.

One hospital, he said, costs around IDR 170 billion, with a breakdown of IDR 150 billion for the building and IDR 20 billion for medical equipment. Azhar said they prioritize medical equipment (alkes) with a high Domestic Content Level (TKDN) in this program.

Regarding costs, the funds come from the central government and some from the Special Allocation Fund (DAK).

In addition to medical equipment, he continued, the need that needs to be met is human resources, with seven types of basic health workers that need to be met, including anesthesiologists, internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology specialists (obgyn), and others.

"We have connected the human resources with the programs in the Directorate General of Health Human Resources. So later, we will recruit the human resources gradually through PPDS (Specialist Doctor Utilization Program) and fellowship programs or education that are currently running," explained Director General Azhar.
