inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Health issued a Circular Letter (SE) concerning the Acceleration of the Issuance of Hygiene Sanitation Certificates (SLHS) for Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) in the Free Nutritional Meal Program (MBG) program as an effort to ensure quality for beneficiaries.
"Although there is an acceleration of the process, it does not mean that the quality of SLHS issuance will be reduced or simply become a formality," said Acting Director General of Disease Control Murti Utami on Tuesday (7/10/2025).
She stated that this was done because food safety and hygiene are as important as its nutritional content. Her party wants to ensure that food in the MBG Program is not only nutritious, but also safe for consumption.
Furthermore, she emphasized that every SPPG is required to have an SLHS as a form of compliance with hygiene and sanitation standards.
Service units that were already operating before the circular was issued were given one month to apply for certificates, while SPPGs appointed after the circular came into effect must obtain SLHS no later than one month from the date of the decree.
Certificates are issued by the district and city Health Office or an agency appointed by the local government. To apply for SLHS, she added, SPPGs need to attach an official application letter, a document of determination from the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), a kitchen layout, and proof that food handlers have attended a ready-to-eat food safety course.
"The district and city Health Offices, together with community health centers, will verify documents and conduct environmental health inspections before the certificate is issued. In addition, SPPGs are required to include the results of food sample examinations that meet the requirements for consumption suitability," she said.
If all requirements have been met, the local government is required to issue SLHS within a maximum of 14 days from the date the documents are declared complete.
