Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology Brian Yuliarto raised his concern over the death of Timothy Anugrah Saputra, a Universitas Udayana student in Bali who allegedly took his own life after being bullied by peers.
“We are shocked and deeply saddened by the tragedy that befell Timothy Anugrah Saputra. I have contacted the rector and requested a full explanation,” he said on Sunday (19/10/2025) after attending a limited cabinet meeting with President Prabowo Subianto in Jakarta, as reported by antaranews.com
He stressed that campuses must remain safe spaces, free from violence or harassment, and reminded universities of their legal duty under Regulation No. 53 of 2024 to prevent and address bullying.
Timothy, a 22-year-old sociology student, was found dead on 15 October 2025 on campus. Screenshots circulating online revealed he was often mocked in group chats, triggering public outrage after some students reportedly mocked his death on social media.
