Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin has confirmed that several ongoing hospital construction projects in the Nusantara Capital (IKN) are on track to be completed by mid-2024 as planned.
"According to the plan, there are four hospitals that will be completed before August 17, including one vertical hospital and three private facilities," he said on Thursday (2/11/2023).
The minister acknowledged that the availability of adequate numbers of health workers is a challenge to the delivery of health services in the IKN. To address this, he indicated that the government has been actively exploring opportunities to collaborate with various stakeholders to strengthen the capacity and skills of Indonesian doctors.
He also urged hospitals to prioritise services for National Health Insurance (JKN) enrollees to ensure that the general public has access to healthcare services of international standards.
"I commend your efforts. In addition to providing exceptional services, I also encourage you to offer special provisions for BPJS (Health Social Security Organising Agency)," he said, as quoted by antaranews.com.
President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo emphasised that the establishment of the hospital would significantly boost public and investor confidence, thus removing any reservations about staying in IKN.
The President went on to say that the hospital will be built in accordance with international standards, using a smart and sustainable building approach that utilises renewable energy sources and supports the digitalisation of smart healthcare facilities.
"We will continue to develop a range of complementary facilities to further attract interest in living in IKN and ultimately realise the vision of a vibrant, modern, progressive and environmentally sustainable capital city," the President concluded.
