Immigration Office in Atambua Boosts Passport Service Ahead of Papal Visit

Inp.polri.go.id - Kupang. The Atambua Immigration Office in Belu regency, East Nusa Tenggara, has ramped up its Easy Passport service in anticipation of Pope Francis's visit to Dili, Timor Leste next month.

Indra Maulana Dimyati, tthe Head of the Atambua Immigration Office, said on Monday (12/8/2024) that two Easy Passport services have already been held, with growing interest from the community.

"This initiative, in collaboration with the Atambua Diocese, aims to facilitate those wishing to attend the Pope’s event in Dili," he said, as quoted by antaranews.com.

The first service had 15 applicants, while the recent one had 84, showing a significant increase in demand. Among the 84 applicants, 10 were for passport renewals. Of these, 33 were male and 51 were female.

Easy Passport services will continue as the papal visit approaches. The services may extend to North Central Timor regency if demand continues, likely after 17 August 2024.
