Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has strongly condemned the ongoing blockade and repeated Israeli military strikes in northern Gaza, which have severely impacted the Indonesian Hospital in the region.

According to the Ministry, these attacks on medical facilities and personnel have worsened the humanitarian crisis, leading to increased starvation and civilian deaths in Northern Gaza.

"Targeting healthcare facilities and medical workers in Northern Gaza, including the Indonesian Hospital, is a clear violation of international law, humanitarian law, and human rights," the Ministry said in a statement on Tuesday (22/10/2024), as quoted by antaranews.com..

The Indonesian government called for the immediate protection of hospitals, healthcare workers, and all patients, urging Israel to halt its attacks without delay. They also called on the United Nations Security Council to take decisive action to end the conflict.

Indonesian humanitarian group MER-C confirmed that the Indonesian Hospital in Beit Lahiya, Northern Gaza, has been repeatedly bombed by Israeli forces. These strikes have continued, putting patients and medical staff at serious risk.

Dr. Marwan Al-Sultan, the hospital’s director, reported that the Israeli strikes hit the building’s upper floors, causing power outages and endangering 40 patients and 15 staff members.
