Inp.polri.go.id - Brussels. President Prabowo Subianto announced that nearly all tariffs between Indonesia and the European Union have been agreed to be reduced to 0% under the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA).
This agreement paves the way for a free trade deal set to be signed in September 2025.
“Almost all of our tariffs are settled, nearly all are now 0 percent between us,” said President Prabowo in Brussels on Sunday (13/7/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
He emphasized that CEPA marks a strategic and historic partnership, noting that the EU is a major market with a population of 460 million and a high GDP.
President Prabowo announced the conclusion of CEPA negotiations during a joint press conference with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. The talks spanned 10 years.
Minister of Investment Rosan Roeslani projected that CEPA could double bilateral trade from USD 30 billion to USD 60 billion and boost EU investment interest in Indonesia.
