Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources announced on Tuesday (19/5/2026) that the Indonesian government will not raise the prices of subsidized fuels, such as Pertalite and Biosolar, through the end of the year despite a weakening rupiah and fluctuating global crude prices
“We will not raise subsidized fuel prices,” said Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia at his office in Jakarta, as reported by antaranews.com.
He explained that although the Indonesian Crude Price (ICP) spiked to $117.31 per barrel in April, the average ICP from January to May hovered around $80 to $81 per barrel, remaining safely below the critical $100 threshold.
Director General of Oil and Gas Laode Sulaeman added that while April’s price surge was driven by geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, upcoming global demand drops and potential diplomatic breakthroughs are expected to stabilize future markets.
