inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto expressed Indonesia's readiness to take a greater role in maintaining world peace through active participation in United Nations (UN) missions.
In his speech at the General Debate session of the 80th UN General Assembly Session at the General Assembly Hall, UN Headquarters, New York, United States, Tuesday (9/23/2025), President Prabowo emphasized that Indonesia is currently one of the largest contributors to World Peacekeeping Forces.
"We believe in the UN and will continue to serve wherever peace needs guardians. Not just with words, but with the presence of troops on the ground," said President Prabowo, Wednesday (9/24/2025).
The President conveyed Indonesia's readiness to deploy up to 20,000 personnel, or more, to various international conflict points.
"When the Security Council and the General Assembly decide, Indonesia is ready to send 20,000 or even more to secure peace, whether in Gaza, Ukraine, Sudan, Libya, or in other regions in need," explained President Prabowo.
The statement was met with applause from the delegates in attendance.
In addition to deploying personnel, President Prabowo also reaffirmed Indonesia's commitment to providing financial support for UN peacekeeping missions.
"We will share this responsibility, not only by sending our nation's best sons and daughters, but also through financial contributions to support the UN's significant mission of achieving world peace," he added.
On that occasion, President Prabowo also emphasized the importance of international collaboration in maintaining global security, and asserted that true peace can only be achieved through solidarity among nations.
