Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian Embassy in Yangon announced that the Myanmar government has approved the repatriation of 54 Indonesian citizens currently in safe locations.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed on Wednesday (5/11/2025) that preparations for their return are underway, including travel documentation and coordination of the Myanmar–Thailand route in collaboration with the Indonesian Embassy in Bangkok, as reported by antaranews.com.
Efforts to relocate other Indonesians are ongoing..
According to the Foreign Ministry, 90 Indonesians in two separate locations are awaiting evacuation to safe shelters, while another 58 in a third location have expressed readiness to return home.
The Indonesian Embassy in Yangon has received reports of 27 Indonesians located in a different area whose safety is being secured. In total, Indonesian authorities have verified data on 175 citizens who have not yet reached safe zones.
These names will be formally submitted to Myanmar’s government as the basis for their relocation and repatriation permits to Indonesia.
