Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Inspector General of the Police, Prof. Dr. Dedi Prasetyo, M.Hum., M.Sc., M.M., explained that the entire team worked hard to uncover the case of the shootout that killed Brigadier J by collecting facts and data that can be proven by scientific crime investigation.
"So that there will be no more speculations. The team will present juridical facts and data facts that can be scientifically proven, that is our priority," explained Inspector General Dedi.
The Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police said that the entire team was engaged in conducting investigations, starting from Indonesia Automatic Fingerprint System, Forensic Laboratory Center Team, to Medical Forensic. The team's work is directly supervised by the National Police Commission (Kompolnas) and the National Human Rights Commission (Komnas HAM).
All findings from this investigation will be presented by a special team formed by the National Police Chief to uncover the shootout that killed Brigadier J.
Inspector General Prof. Dr. Dedi Prasetyo, M.Hum., M.Si., M.M., also asked the public and the media to be patient and give the team time to work to uncover the case in an objective, transparent and accountable ways.
He also ensured that the investigation will covered all potential and possibilities that occurred in the incident, including alleged violations by police officers that was based on preliminary investigations by the South Jakarta Police.
"All possibilities will certainly be investigated by the team so that this case is truly in accordance with the direction of the National Police Chief, and can be clearly conveyed to the public supported by scientific evidence," said the Head of the Police Public Relations Division.
Regarding the accessibility of independent investigations by Komnas HAM, that accessibility will be in accordance with existing mechanisms through a special team chaired by the Inspector of General Supervision (Irwasum) of the National Police.
" Komnas HAM will communicate to Irwasum's team regarding all accessibility for Komnas HAM, so that the investigation will be truly objective, transparent, and accountable," adds Inspector General Dedi.
On July 8, 2022, Brigadier J was killed in a shootout with Bharada E at the National Police Propam Headquarters Office, South Jakarta. The incident was allegedly motivated by harassment and pointing a gun against the wife of the Head of the Propam Police Division.
