inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo said that his institution is open to recalling former Minister of Communication and Information Budi Arie Setiadi in relation to the online gambling case.

"What is clear is that we have questioned him, and of course we will reconfirm if we found any clues," said General Sigit on Tuesday (5/20/2025).

General Sigit said that his party is still following the trial process in the case of alleged protection of the online gambling site by a number of employees of the Ministry of Communication and Information (now the Ministry of Communication and Digital).

Previously, the name of the Cooperatives Minister, Budi Arie, appeared in the indictment in the case of alleged protection of the online gambling site by a number of his former employees.

The indictment was read by the public prosecutor (JPU) at the South Jakarta District Court on Wednesday (5/14/2025).

In the indictment, Budi Arie is said to have received a 50 percent commission from the practice of protecting the online gambling site so that it would not be blocked by the Ministry of Communication and Information.

The defendants in this case are Budi Arie's friend named Zulkarnaen Aprilia Tony, Ministry of Communication and Information employee Adhi Kismanto, President Director of PT Djelas Tandatangan Bersama Alwin Jabarti Kiemas, and the envoy of the director at the Ministry of Communication and Information Muhrijan alias Agus.

Budi Arie was questioned by the police at INP Criminal Investigation Unit Building on December 19, 2024.
