Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has instructed the Traffic Corps to anticipate the use of noisy exhausts, better known locally as "knalpot brong", during the 2024 regional election campaign period from 25 September 2024 to 23  November 2024.

During the 69th Bhayangkara Traffic Corps anniversary celebration in Jakarta on Thursday (26/9/2024), he noted the trend of using loud exhausts resurfaced during the 2024 general election..

"Please anticipate this to avoid any friction," said Chief Sigit, as wuoted by antaranews.com.

He also emphasized the need to communicate with the General Elections Commission (KPU) and intelligence agencies to manage campaign routes and schedules, especially if multiple candidates campaign simultaneously.

Chief Sigit appreciated the Traffic Corps for successfully securing major events, including Pope Francis’ visit to Jakarta from3 to 6  September 2024, and encouraged maintaining high standards for future operations.
