Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) has distributed 2,424 tons of rice during the nationwide launch of the Gerakan Pangan Murah (Affordable Food Movement), held simultaneously across 1,552 locations in Indonesia, which benefits 484,977 people.
“Today we are launching the Gerakan Pangan Murah, which will run until 16 August 2025,” INP Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo said on Thursday (14/8/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
Rice, sugar, and cooking oil are all sold at the State Logistis Company’s Bulog’s standard prices.
The program is part of President Prabowo Subianto’s directive to distribute 1.3 million tons of government rice stock (SPHP) to stabilize prices and maintain supply. By Wednesday 5,706 tons had already been distributed in 4,705 locations.
Shoppers welcomed the event, with prices significantly lower than market rates with rice sold at Rp 55,000 per 5 kg, sugar at Rp 15,000 per 1 kg, and cooking oil at Rp15,000 per 1 liter.
