inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) gave prisoners time to exercise their right to vote in the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Head Elections, and facilitated prisoners at the Criminal Investigation Agency Detention Center with a special Polling Station (TPS) on Wednesday, (11/27/2024)
The INP Criminal Investigation Agency, in collaboration with KPU and other related institutions, recorded 17 prisoners, Consisting of 16 male prisoners and 1 female prisoner, exercising their right to vote.
The voting process was going safely, smoothly, and in accordance with the provisions. Technical procedures such as prisoner data collection, preparation of special TPS, and supervision of the voting process, were designed to maintain transparency and accountability.
This activity is a real step to ensure that the implementation of democracy in Indonesia runs well.
The right to vote is part of human rights guaranteed by the constitution. Every citizen, including prisoners, has the right to participate in determining the direction of government policy, in this case in the 2024 regional election process.
This activity not only shows the state's commitment to implementing fair elections, but also provides an opportunity for prisoners to remain involved in the democratic process even though they are in limited conditions.
With the fulfillment of this right to vote, it is hoped that every citizen's voice can be accommodated, thus producing leaders who truly reflect the aspirations of all Indonesian people.
