Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) will build 300 bore wells in Aceh Tamiang, Aceh, to restore access to clean water for flood affected communities, while launching a similar program in West Sumatra as part of post disaster recovery efforts. The initiative targets 216 villages across 12 subdistricts.

“This program is the INP’s concrete commitment to helping communities meet their basic need for clean water after disasters,” said Senior Superintendent Erdi A. Chaniago, the INP’s Public Relations Division Head of Public Information Unit, on Sunday (21/12/2205).

The wells will be installed at mosques, schools, health facilities, evacuation centers, and public areas. As of 19 December, 23 bore wells in Aceh Tamiang are already operational, with two damaged community wells rehabilitated, according to antaranews.com

In West Sumatra, the West Sumatra Regional Police also plan to build 150 bore wells in Padang Pariaman, Padang, Padang Panjang, Agam, and Solok, in coordination with the River Basin Authority.
