INP Investigates Overseas Election Violation Allegation in Kuala Lumpur

Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Criminal Investigation Unit will investigate the election violation allegation in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The initiative will be taken following a report received from Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu). The Director of General Criminal Investigation of INP Criminal Investigation Unit, Brigadier General Djuhandhani Rahardjo says that the investigation will be carried out for the next 14 days. “Regarding Kuala Lumpur, we from the police have received the report from Bawaslu and now our investigators are looking at the case,” said Djuhandhani on Tuesday (2/27/2024). Furthermore, he stated that if his party found the indication of criminal activity, police will move the case to the Prosecutor’s Office. “If we do find the criminal activity and the evidence, obviously we will move the case to the Prosecutor. However, we will discuss our findings further with Integrated Law Enforcement Task Force, Bawaslu, and Prosecutor,” said Djuhandhani. When asked about the election violations in Kuala Lumpur, Djuhandhani revealed that the allegation was about mysterious additional number of voters participated in the election. (ad/inp/pr/nm)
