Inp.polri.go.id - Birmingham. The Indonesian National Police (INP) judo team has earned 10 medals — six gold, one silver, and three bronze — at the 2025 World Police and Fire Games (WPFG) held in Birmingham, Alabama, from 27 June to 6 July 2025.
One of the standout gold medalists was Brigadier General Yudhi Sulistianto Wahid, the INP Criminal Investigation Agency’s Head of Planning and Administration Bureau, who triumphed in the 73 kg Masters category despite a challenging 72-hour journey due to flight delays caused by geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.
“We faced delays and cancellations due to the security situation, especially after attacks on U.S. facilities in Qatar,” Chief Yudhi explained, as quoted by antaranews.com on Sunday (29/6/2025)
The team’s initial flight from Jakarta on 24 June 2025 faced multiple reschedules before they finally arrived in Birmingham. Other gold medalists include Assistant Senior Inspector Pujantoro (81 kg Masters), Second Brigadir Dewa Kadek Rama (73 kg U-18), Second Brigadier Irene (63 kg), Second Brigadier Tika S. (70 kg) and Secon PRibadier Bripda Shifa (48 kg)
Silver medal was awarded to Second Brigadier I Kadek Pasek Krisna in the 90 kg class, while bronze medals were won by First Brigadier M. Fikri (-81 kg), Second Brigadier Ilham (60 kg), and First Brigadier M. Alfian (66 kg).
The WPFG, held every two years, gathers over 8,500 police and fire personnel from 70 countries. Indonesia sent 97 INP athletes competing in eight disciplines, including judo, swimming, basketball, and cycling.
